In Tel Aviv, they adapted the Bauhaus architecture to suit the Mediterranean climate : white and light colors reflect the heat; thick walls protect against the sun; small windows limit the heat and glare; long narrow balconies allow residents to catch the breeze blowing in from the sea; flat roofs provide an area where one can benefit from the cool air of the evenings.
